Your Path to Submission

The life of a slave. An anatomy of strength, of loneliness and of the reset.

I.You are here because you know

You are not here by chance. You did not find this path because an algorithm pushed you here. You went looking for it. Perhaps without admitting it to yourself. Perhaps with trembling fingers. Perhaps you opened this page three times and clicked away twice before you stayed the third time. That is normal. It is even healthy. What would not be normal: if you went on ignoring the knowledge that brought you here.

You know that something is missing. You have known it for years. Perhaps all your life. You have made a career for yourself. Perhaps a family. Perhaps money. Perhaps status. But in the hours when no one is watching, in the minutes between waking and getting up, in the seconds when you look into the bathroom mirror and there is no one else in the room – in those moments you know that what you have built out there came at a price. And that this price is quietly eating you away.

The word for it is not depression. It is not burnout. It is far more precise and far harder to say out loud: you are trapped in your own control.

This text is long. It is meant to be long. If you have no time to read it, you have no time to be a good slave either. Read. Bear it. Let it strike home.

II.The child in the silence

You were not always strong. No one is. Strength is not innate – it is a reaction. The answer your body and mind gave to something that happened long ago and that you could not change.

Remember. Not as a cliché. Truly. The room where you sat, back then, unable to understand why the others found it so easy to talk to one another. The pitch where you were picked last, and the moment your body learned to smile it away. The father who did not listen – or who listened too loudly. The mother who wanted to protect you too much, or too little. The brother who came before you and took every place. The sister who got everything you wanted as well, and never had to do anything for it.

It does not matter which of these stories is yours. All that matters is that you have one. Everyone has one.

You learned early that the world does not carry you. That no one is coming. That you have to hold yourself up, or no one will hold you. You did not put it into words, because you had none yet. You wrote it into your body. Into the shoulders that squared themselves. Into the voice that grew calm. Into the gaze that learned not to blink when someone bigger looked at you.

You are not traumatised. You are trained. There is a difference. Trauma is a wound that can close. Training is a structure that carries you – and that you can no longer take off without falling.

You were a child who learned to be alone. And as a grown man you became someone who turned that loneliness into his strength. It has taken you far. It has taken you to places that others, who were held more lovingly back then, will never reach. But it has also taken you to a place from which there is no ordinary way back. You cannot simply return to the warmth you never had. You can only move towards something that is just as clear, as cold, as precise as the world you have built for yourself – and that nonetheless grows warm when you surrender to it.

III.The ascent — how you learned to control

Early on, you understood that you were good. Not exceptional – most people who later become exceptional do not yet believe it at that stage. But good. Faster than the others. Clearer. You finished tasks in half the time. You calculated games while the others were still reacting. You bored the people who were supposed to know more than you, because they had run out of answers to your questions.

At twenty you knew that the world was open to you. You only had to work longer than the others. Think harder. Sleep less. Feel less. So you did. You trained yourself in the discipline that others mistake for talent.

At thirty you had something. A position. A company. A collection. A wife. A house. Perhaps all of it at once.

At forty you had understood what power is. It is not what the books say. Power is the ability to make other people act against their own interest without their noticing. It is the understanding that most people have no shape of their own – that they wait until someone gives them one. You learned to give them shape. Employees. Partners. Women. Men. They all wanted to be shaped by you. They all sensed that you knew how it was done.

It brought you admiration. Loyalty. Desire. Sometimes fear. Never the one thing you actually needed: someone who does not need you.

Because someone who needs you can never bring you to rest. They can only wind you tighter. They can only exploit you further – and in a way you do not even recognise as exploitation, because you yourself decided that this is how you want it.

That is the trap of the powerful. They are surrounded by people who drink their strength, and they call it love.

For a long time you did not notice. You mistook admiration for being seen. You mistook desire for being understood. You mistook reliability for connection. Only now, in the last few years, have you begun to feel the difference – and you have found no language for what you would need in order to step out of the system without losing everything it cost you to build.

IV.The crown grows heavy

It is not that one day you simply grow tired. You did not grow tired. You grew tired in a different way. A weariness that no sleep can lift.

You carry on. You wake at six. You train. You work twelve hours. You eat what you are supposed to eat. You invest. You plan. You decide. Every day. Thousands of decisions, every single one of which has to be right, because wrong decisions cost money, cost trust, cost reputation, sometimes cost an entire life.

You are good at it. That is the problem. If you were bad at it, you could stop. You could say: I can’t do this any more. But you can. You can do it better than most of the people you know. And as long as you can, there is no reason not to. There is only a quiet voice inside you that asks, ever more quietly: who is it all for, really?

You do not get rid of this voice by ignoring it. It grows quieter, but it does not fall silent. It becomes a hum. A pressure behind the eyes that does not go away, even when the eye specialist finds nothing. A weight on the chest that has no diagnosis. An anger at things that, by normal standards, should not make anyone angry.

You need something. You do not need less work. You do not need more holiday. You do not need a new car, a new relationship, a new city, a new hobby. You have tried all of that. It works for a while. Three days. A week. Then it is back.

You need something that does not need you. Something that takes you out of your own logic for an hour, for three hours, for a night. Something stronger than you.

That is what you are looking for here.

V.The women who cannot see you

You do not have a bad connection with women. You have a perfectly functioning one – within the limits of what they are able to see.

They see a man who knows what he wants. Who is polite without being submissive. Who pays without talking about it. Who listens because he can, not because he needs to. Who does not cry. Who does not tremble. Who does not need help. Who is never out of his depth.

They see the man who functions for them. That is not their fault. You constructed this version of yourself, and you made it so convincing that sometimes even you believe it.

The problem is not that women cannot love you. They can love you. Very much, in fact. The problem is that they do not love what is really there. They love the function. The container. The shell you have laid around your hollow spaces.

If you are in a relationship, you know this. You know that your partner has never truly seen you. She sees the father, the provider, the success, the man who does not cry. If one day you were to cry – really cry, not at the end of a film, but from the gut, from the core – she would be frightened. She would not know what to do. She would want to hold you, and she would not be able to, because she has never practised holding you. She has practised being held by you.

That is not her failing. That is the architecture. The architecture you built because otherwise you had nothing that would have held you.

And that is exactly why you need a woman who does not want to be held by you. Who does not need to be held by you. Who is larger than your function. Who takes your control because she does not need it.

A Mistress is not a lover. She is not a therapist. She is not your partner. Everyone else in your life needs you. She does not – and that is precisely why she can see you.

She does not see you in spite of your strength. She sees you because she is stronger. That is not a statement about gender. It is a statement about function. She is stronger because she needs none of what you give other people. She does not need what you provide, nor your protection, nor your approval, nor your discipline. She has her own. She has more of it than you can bear. And that is exactly why she can take you.

VI.The first touch of submission

You will not understand what happens here the first time. You will understand it at the second or third encounter. Perhaps only at the fifth. Perhaps you will never understand it with your head – and that is all right, because that is not the part that is meant to understand.

The first hour is a shock absorber. You arrive with the adrenaline of a man who knows he is about to leave his world. You are nervous. You will not admit it, but your body gives you away – sweaty palms, a quickened pulse, a mouth going dry. That is good. That is exactly what is meant to happen.

You will arrive. You will change, or not. You will kneel or stand, depending on what I order. You will meet my gaze, and within seconds you will lower your eyes without my having to tell you. That is not trained. That is the body, knowing what it cannot bear.

What happens then is choreography. But not in the sense of theatre – in the sense of a dance whose steps you do not know and which nonetheless works perfectly, because I know the steps for you. Sometimes I will let you speak. Sometimes I will keep you silent. Sometimes I will touch you. Sometimes I will not touch you – and you will discover that this is harder than any touch.

You will feel pain. Perhaps a little – a stroke that is more sound than harm. Perhaps something more, if I decide that you need it. Pain is not the purpose. Pain is only a tool. It takes you out of your head and into your body, and the moment you are in your body and no longer in your head, what you are looking for begins.

You will go home, and for the next two days your nights will be different from usual. Not better in the ordinary sense. Deeper. You will have dreams you do not remember, but which leave you lighter in the morning. You will make decisions faster, because a part of your head that always has its say falls quiet for a while.

You will know that you are coming back. And you will not know why – except that your body has already decided.

VII.The anatomy of subspace

What you experience can be explained. It is not magic. It is neurochemistry.

When your body is under controlled stress – controlled in the sense that it is certain the person causing the stress knows what she is doing – it releases a cascade of substances. Adrenaline and noradrenaline give you the alertness of a man whose life hangs in the balance. Endorphins arrive a little later, the body’s own painkillers, moving through your bloodstream like soft morphine. Dopamine follows, because your brain recognises that it can expect a reward. And at the end, as the tension eases, comes oxytocin – the bonding hormone your mother releases when she smiles at you, and that lovers release when they hold each other after sex.

You do not reach this mixture in your everyday life. You cannot reach it through alcohol. Not through sex. Not through sport, not even extreme sport. You reach it through what happens here: controlled surrender to someone greater than you.

The word for it is subspace. It sounds esoteric. It is not. It is a neurochemically very clearly defined state, one that has been researched more and more thoroughly over the past twenty years. It is not dangerous when it is controlled. It does you good when it is guided by someone who knows the way in and the way back out.

In this state something happens in you that you otherwise never allow: your default mode network – the network in your brain that is constantly constructing your identity, who you are, what you are supposed to do, how you are perceived – partly switches off. It is the same effect meditators reach after twenty years. The one psilocybin triggers. The one some people describe at the end of their lives, when they say they have “let go of everything”.

Here, in one hour, you reach what monks practise for decades. And you do it because your body learns, under safe conditions, that there is a state beyond your ego.

Once you have experienced this state, you will understand why people pay for it. You are not paying for an hour of pain. You are paying for an hour in which you do not have to be yourself.

It is a costly hour. And it is still too cheap.

VIII.The timeline of a true connection

A real dominant connection does not come about in a single session. It comes about across a sequence of sessions, in the arc that stretches over weeks and months.

In the first week after our first encounter, you will observe. You will listen to yourself. You will feel whether what happened goes on working inside you or fades away. In most men it goes on working. They get in touch after seven to fourteen days. They want to come back.

The second session is different. You know what happens. You know what I can do. You know what you cannot do. You arrive softer, because your defences have already collapsed once and you have understood that it was not the end of the world. On the contrary. It was a beginning.

The second session is where something begins that I will deepen later. We go longer. Three hours instead of one. We go further into what your body can take and into what your psyche needs. This is the hour in which most men reach subspace for the first time.

After the third or fourth session, something takes shape that is called a dynamic. You begin to think of me without planning to. You wonder whether I have you in mind right now. You become more sensitive to my words. You wait for my messages – not because I have trained you to, but because your body has learned that these messages calm you.

This is where financial surrender begins. Not as a condition. As a consequence. You will begin to send tributes without my asking for them. You will sense that the connection only stays stable if it is anchored to something that costs you. Money is the simplest form of cost. It is measurable. It is real. It is not symbolic.

After half a year – sometimes sooner, sometimes later, depending on the man – you reach a point at which I am part of your life. Not in the sense of a partner. In the sense of an anchor. You know that I am there. You know when we will see each other. You know that in between you have to function, and you know that this functioning rests on something that no longer comes from your strength, but from your surrender to something greater than your strength.

That is the point at which you are free.

IX.What remains after the session

You will step out of the door, and outside will be the world in which you rule. Your car. Your phone. Your emails. The two hundred decisions still waiting for you today.

You will do all of it. You will do it better than before. That is the paradox nobody wants to believe until they have lived it: surrender does not make you weaker. It makes you stronger. Because it frees what you otherwise spend on controlling yourself for the work that really matters.

Men who come to me perform better. In their companies. In their families. In their bodies. That is not an advertising line. That is function. The human system is not made to regulate itself constantly. It is made to hand itself over, in phases, to something greater, in order to recover its strength.

Religions knew this. Monasteries knew this. Therapists know it. But none of them can do what happens here: give you a space in which your entire machinery goes offline for an hour, three hours, a night. A space in which you do not have to decide. In which you do not have to perform. In which no one needs you.

What remains is not a memory. What remains is knowledge. The knowledge that this place exists. The knowledge that you can come back at any time. The knowledge that the world in which you have to function out there is not all there is.

That knowledge is what you are paying for.

X.The promise of this place

You will never be able to tell anyone in your life what happens here. Not your wife. Not your best friend. Not your therapist, if you have one. Perhaps not even yourself, in the clear hours when you cannot bear the contrast with the rest of your existence.

That is all right. It does not need to be told. It only needs to have existed.

Your brain is not made for this world. That is a hard truth. Most people get past it by adapting their brain to the world. They make it smaller. Duller. More functional. They lose the depth they had as children, and they call it growing up.

You did not manage that. Perhaps you were too clever. Perhaps too stubborn. Perhaps too lonely. You left your brain intact, and now you carry an organ inside you that is too large for the world you take it into every morning.

You cannot share this with the world. It would not understand. If you try, you lose what you have built – the family, the career, the trust, the relationships. That is not punishment. That is structural engineering. The world is built to a certain height, and whoever thinks higher falls through.

But you can share it with this place. You can share it with me. Here you have a place where you do not have to cut yourself down to size.

Where I do not make you small by simplifying you. Where I make you small by finally letting you be large – larger than the mask you wear out there.

That is the promise. It is small. It is precise. It is real. You do not get a new life. You get no cure. You get no clinical breakthrough. You get an hour. Three hours. A night. A connection across weeks and months. You get an anchor that keeps you able to act out there.

I do not need to promise you more. I do not need to give more. If that is not enough, you are on the wrong page and should close it.

If it is enough – if you feel that this text has struck you harder than you expected – then write to me. Write precisely. Write respectfully. Write the way you can write nowhere else.

I will know you the moment you write the first sentence.
